East Kingston is a rural New England town located in Rockingham County, in southern New Hampshire. It is situated in the heart of the seacoast area. It is 45 minutes from Boston, 30 minutes from Portsmouth and Manchester, and just 10 minutes from Exeter.
East Kingston is part of the Exeter Regional Cooperative School District of SAU 16, located in Exeter. East Kingston students also attend the East Kingston Elementary School, the Cooperative Middle School in Stratham, and the new Exeter High School.
East Kingston is drained by the Powwow River and the Great Brook. The town lies within the Piscataqua River watershed on the north, and the Merrimack River watershed on the south. The summit of Morse Hill is the highest point of town.
According to the 2000 U.S. Census Bureau, East Kingston’s population at the time was 1,784 people. This included 629 households and 508 families. The average family size was 3.13 and the average household size was 2.84. East Kingston is comprised of 10 square miles of land and 0.1 square miles of water.
